Linking Sky Email to Outlook 365 on desktop Sky Community

New Outlook is a PWA (Progressive Web App) so basically Outlook on the web, packaged as an app. If you have any evidence to the contarary, please share it, but even trying to seach Microsoft it seem it will need a generated password. When adding the account did you use the Yahoo or ‘Other’ option? Are you entering the details manually so you are adding the servers or are you allowing Outlook to do this for you ? Sometimes it doesn’t get as far as entering your password. When I try adding a Sky email address to Outlook 365, I can enter my email address etc, but then get a message On average, new discussions are replied to by our users within 80 minutes Browse or search to find help, or start a new discussion on Community. It will work on all versions of Outlook, but some will require a generated password.

As you mention the Outlook app, I’m assuming you are doing this on a mobile device. I am confident this isn’t a Outlook 365 problem as any other email like Hotmail, Gmail all work 100%. I reset my computer and put my Sky email address into Outlook 365 and it all went in ok. I then tried inputing another Sky email, but this time same old problem. However, I tried today and got to enter a Sky email address into Outlook 365 and it worked! There’s a link in the help guide to the password generator.

Hi there thanks for your reply tried what you have suggested already including app password plus alternative MAPI ports too, hasn’t helped still same issue I’m afraid This issue just happened out of the blue, not sure if a windows / office update may have caused it, changes on the sky / yahoo end of things or something else. I have had this problem for a while now on my desktop and laptop and have tried all the advisories including generating an app password. You can use your phone’s camera to translate text in the Translate app . To translate text, speech, and websites in more than 200 languages, go to Google Translate page. You can use the Google Translate app to translate written words or phrases. When setting up choose Yahoo, enter your Sky email & password then proceed. They should be imap.tools.sky.com and smtp.tools.sky.com. I can add Gmail & hotmail accounts fine and all work flawlessly. I have tried to set it up as a POP account and an IMAP accound, but cannot find which Sky/Yahoo email should be. I do believe sky yahoo mail works on outlook 365 classic but not the new version / well at least that is what I have read I have tried to re-connect with a sky app password, and my email password – but both fail. It’s working fine now with an app password as a pop so until that changes I’ll leave well alone.

Yes I know as I have 2 other accounts as Imap and one of those uses an app password. Logging into Yahoo email wasn’t showing me any option to create a new app password. Tried deleting and re-adding the account and given I cannot even connect to the IMAP server I cannot recreate the account (outlook working fine for my MS outlook mail address). You can translate text, handwriting, photos,and speech in over 200 languages with the Google Translate app.

The app password should work just a well for IMAP as POP. I just checked my mailwasher settings and that’s using pop still, I tried it and bingo, first go!! Hi, I have just bought MS office 2024, I have 3 e mail address’ set up and working in the Outlook desktop app perfectly but I cannot get the sky one to work. Which Outlook are you using – the inbuilt Mail app, Outlook which comes with MS/Office 365 or online? I even deleted the account & added it again to test.I have already added my Microsoft account so have you added this first? Under add account there should be the option to either choose Yahoo or just enter your account & it will pick Yahoo automatically. I am using Outlook 365 classic and not the new outlook 365 that I believe doesnt currently support IMAP
